Chokodok Reggae House - Cafe untuk orang jiwa kacau.

Chokodok Reggae House - Synchronize with the name, the owners of this cafe had spilled their obsession towards reggae music in every inch of cafe's decoration and ambiance. Bringing the style of Jamaican by the beach, this cafe is so easy to find as it simply strategic for a food hunter to drop by. Located at Hugh Low Street Ipoh, it is such a well-known hangout place among the youth and its hipster-ness has always been the cafe of choice to hold a gathering with friends. Worry not as it is searchable by Waze and google. It is even reachable by walking from Nasik Ganja shop.

I went there right after i had my Nasik Ganja for brunch. My stomach was totally full that time so i just wanted to drop by and hop in to munch some light food- whilst chilling for pictures of course.

Just like an ordinary cafe, Chokodok Reggae House serves the mix of Malaysian and Western food as well as their beverages. They have their own signature meal but my stomach just got stuck as much as i want to try the food. So i ended up ordering a platter of nachos and butterscotch soda drink while my travel partner still can't get herself from choc blended. (sorry if you reading this Yanti) hihhi

Their menu book is hand written! Yaaa using marker pen!

Like a school-kid handwriting obviously. hihi

Taraaaaaaa presenting our food and drinks!

Thank god i choose the right and delicious drink right here! Sedapp sanagat! Its a butterscotch soda, drinked with an ice cube because its tooooo sweet. I enjoy half bottle of it while capturing picture of my travel partner drinking in style hihi

Lady in red drinking choco choco

Aaaaaaaaaa the kicking delicous nachos! Rinduuu u!

We enjoy it on a wodden table and chair. Some of the chairs here are made from biscuit tin but i wouldn't dare to sit on it because i know the tin will kemek then! hihi

Ahaaaaaaaa!

Overall, Chokodok Reggae House is suitable for you if:

1. You are a hipster cafe fans who wouldnt care much on the tatste of food so long you can have fun chilling and taking pictures.
2. You are easy going and dont care much to lepak in an UN-air-conditioned cafe
3. You are looking for new experience eating in small and serabut cafe - Not advisable for those who wants peacful ambience as you will be distracted by the wall scribbles and reggae music is played on all the time.
4. Extremely suitable for orang-orang jiwa kacau! hihihih

Ok dah.. till my next post.

Makan sedap Ipoh - Nasi Ganja

Assalammualaikum!

Tanpa sedar perut dah kenyang. Sebab tu la kot nama dia Ganja. ketagih mcm nak ganja gitu la..

Kalau awak order satu pinggan nasik ganja, awak akan dapat nasik putih, telur masin, ayam goreng yang dia rempah-rempahkan dgn rempah sedap, dia goreng pon garing tapi tak keras, dapat timun-timunan, kuah kuah kari dan ade satu lauk untuk cicah tu.. Sedapp wehhh.. Nasik dia mcm lemak-lemak sikit tp nasik putih biasa je., Satu pinggan ni mungkin laa dalam 500-700 kCal kahkahkah aku tak kesah la berapa kalori masa tu sebab memang datang nak makan banyak-banyak. Jadi.. makan jelaa..

Satu Pinggan RM 5.00 sahaja

Allahuakbar, lapar terus tengok gambar ni hihih Nak lagi pleaseee!

Memang perut tengah lapaaar mintak breakfast. Alang-alang perut tengah kosong, order terus nasik ganja ni walaupun menu ni terlalu berat untuk breakafast TAPI! sbb memang dah aim dari awal, tanpa ragu-ragu, makan sepinggan dgn order air milo lagi. Comfort food sangat weh!

Hihihi cawan pun klasik!

KENYANG!! Alhamdulillah....

Selalunya kedai ni akan ramai sangat orang. Sampaikan beratur nak beli. Nasib baik kitorang datang awal, kedai pun tak ramai sangat masa tu, so takdelah hassle sangat untuk mendapatkan sesuap nasik ganja.

Tapi masa hari kedua kitorang datang sini, masa tu tengah hari, ramaiiiiiiiiiii sangat ok orang beratur. Tapi tempat terhad! Ramai gilaaa orang. Macam kedai nasik kandar.

If you are curious, kenapa nasik ganja ni dalam kedai chinese, jawapannya memang style orang dulu-dulu berniaga dalam kedai chinese tapi penjual makanan nya ialah melayu dan india muslim. Sama macam kat kampung aku (Batu Pahat), pun sama macam tu jugak.

Cawan dia klasik, kerusi meja dia memang style kopitiam lama. Old schools dan unik semuanya!

Sedap! Murah! Kenyang dan aku dah rindu nak makan lagi!

Cafe Hopping in Ipoh - Nellis Cafe

Assalammualaikum..

Among the café that I got a chance to hop in was Nellis Café. Located just behind Sekeping Kong Heng, my first love fell with their rustic concept from the entrance to their interior. First thing that attracted me was their signage that made of rustic wood, painted in red and written as “OPEN” .
Seconds is their door which made of old wooden door, i believe Nellis Cafe had recycled it from the garbage because it looks so "countryside". Third, is their displaying window at the facade of this cafe. This is so cool in my eyes. It reminsinced the old shop back in the 60's and i truly believe this shoplot has been in existence since the 60's or maybe older. Credit should be given to this cafe and Sekeping Kong Heng for sustaining the bulding pattern which can hardly found in mordernize Malaysia nowadays. If you really a rustic lover, this cafe is the right place for you to chill in Ipoh.

My travel partner and i stop right there quite long just for picture, and we eventually entered the cafe to have some light food and another pictures again! Hihihi

Menu serve are mostly local food. We have been warmly invited by a yummy nasik goreng aroma, lively cooked from thier small kitchen.

Menus and prices

               Cafe's Kitchen and cashier counter.

That is their menu list. Really a cheapskate presentation using wrinkle A4 paper.

              Table and chair arrangement

                  Panorama view

I had some french fries in a bowl

                    Art of origami

Taraaaa.... Look at the wall.. A peeling and vanish paint. Looks less beutiful but this is their main attraction.

                    The art of wall

Okay thats all about Nellis Cafe. I truly recommend this cafe if you are:
1. Rustic lover (like me)
2. Photo lover (like me)
3. Cafe hunter

Hehehe till my next post!

Bye

Cafe Hopping in Ipoh - Patisserie Boutique Cafe

So yeah.. i was in I.P.O.H last week!

I always assume Ipoh like Batu Pahat (my home town). A small town, less fancy, less shopping complexes, looks ordinary but truthfully, Ipoh stand on its own identity. If you really google about what so happening in Ipoh, you may discover that Ipoh actually have a lot of boutique hotels and cool cafes. Some blogger wrote them as "Hipster cafe" . On top of that, Ipoh have variety of food choices and the most signature food is of course their Nasik Ganja. Sounds illegal but worries, it is not a real ganja though.  It is just a fancy name to describe how addictive the rice will taste.. Exaggerating right? hehe.. Mmg addictive pon! I will blog about this later ok!

I particularly write this entry to show you guys this cafe-

Patisserie Boutique Cafe

Located within Sekeping Kong Heng vicinity, this cafe just few steps away from the Sekeping Kong Heng entrance. Just nearby and no sweating for walking. hehe

The signboard. So Paris! So Eiffel!

Taraaaaaaaaaaa! Old shop but look at their interior...

Simply modern with Paris-element.

I love their interior!

Patisserie is unique for having a romantic ambiance inside their cafe. Visitor is served  with a simple decoration with minimal table arrangement. As you can see, the dim light shining down the Eiffel tower mural as well as their menu board, this has make the cafe look even pleasant. Romantic music is turn on. If you can see, there is a small room (just next to Eiffel mural) for "family space". Anyone who come along with families or a big group can enjoy the room. The room is a bit isolated from other guest but the decoration is rather beautiful. It was fully occupied during my dine here.

So we sat at this table..

At the corner.

We purposely chose this spot, so that we can have perfect view for our photo collection hihi. And i love their window frame so much because the design is so vintage.. The available sunlight makes the place shine so bright. Just perfect for a love birds who dating. That is us- waiting for our chocolate drink. Reflecting the cafe name, menu served are mostly pastries and coffee.

Iced chocolate - Yeah one mug for two as we really want to safe cost. Its quite expensive here (for me),  this cup had cost us RM 15, almost similar to a branded coffee shop in KL  Luckily we just had our heavy lunch before touring, so we don't really feel like eating. We are here just to feel hipster hihih chilling and chatting while appreciating the interior design. And of course i am so busy taking pictures hihihi

Ok i'm done with this post.
I will blog about Nellis Cafe in my next post, so..stay tune!

Thanks for reading me!

A day at Tadom Hill Resort, Banting

Assalammualaikum...

I started to know this place since it went viral in facebook 2-3 months ago. I stumbled upon a post showing pictures of blue lake, people swims in it with a life jacket.. It was an interesting post, I was attracted, so i browsed their information further and finally found their Instagram page on the search, i follow them since then. I sometimes scrolled on their hashtag to see their pictures. Indeed! The lake loook soooo tempting and blue! and cool too! I like it! I read thru all of comments in Tadom's post and getting in love when i know the entrance fee is affordable.

Lets  go to Tadom Hill Resort!

Once upon a Saturday, i went hiking to Broga Hill, i say hello to a lot of  climbers as i love saying random hello hahah i enjoy be friend with stranger too. I was then (accidentally) met this one group of youngsters at the top of Broga, who asked for a picture together. Being a selfie freak and friendly, i am not shy for a selfie. We then chit chatting and just keep on selfie. It followed by  a lepak together session at the coconut-shake stall down the hill.  After talking so much about hiking, one of them came out with and idea "JOm pergi Tadom Hill" Knowing me, i am an excited person so i promptly said "JOMMMMMMMMMMMMM"

It was so impromptu! Go to hell to a proper planning, it just me and them (the stranger that i only know for few hours) who love to involve in random crazy trip! We don't even have extra clothes for swimming but we don't care. We were then proceed the plan, drove alllllll theeee wayyyyyy from Semenyih to Banting with a bouquet of blooming heart. We were so Exciteeeeeeeedddddddddd!

How to get there?

We took Elite Highway, exit KLIA and the rest of the direction are fully rely on the Waze tehehe..

Please note, there is no visible signboard to get there. You have to slow down your ride when the waze says "you have reached the destination", and then you have to look for the hidden signage "Tadom Hill Resort". There is a narrow junction that you have to take, and the dream place just not too distance from the said junction.

Here we go! We reached Tadom Hill Resort finally!! (without any picnic food nor swimming clothes haha)Taraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..........they have Tadom Groove tag too like a water theme park!

First thing first- pay fee.

Cost per entry : RM 20 per pax (all in) - we got this price since we are in a group of 7.
Cost per pax in a group of 10 peoples : RM 17 per pax (all in)

For staying overnight, there might have different rate, sorry i am not sure about it because we went for a day trip.  Fee already includes the life jacket and picnic spot. You can play in there all day long. The lake only closed at 6.30 p.m

Inside Tadom Hill Resort.

Let me serve you with pictures okay!

Camp site
*you have to book this earlier

The stays- Fully constructed using bamboo and mengkuang leaf/attap. I used to see people uploading photos of him sleeping in the hammock here. But the hammock wasn't hanging there during our visit. It is specially hanged for those who have booked for it perhaps. But it looks interesting! Maybe you can try.

Their BBQ spot- Not too spacious, just nice for a small group event.
*

Guess what? This is a prayer room provides by Tadom. I respect the management for providing the guest with a proper and cosy prayer room, complete with telekung & sejadah (praying attire & prying mat). For ablution (wudhu'), we have to use their shower room as they didn't provide special spot for ablution. But still okay :)  It is cold inside here! Fully attap and mengkuang leaf. Unique and neatly constructed. Thumbs up Tadom's management! Thanks for welcoming muslims.

There are also a cafe near the entrance but i have no photo of it. The food price might a bit expensive than it should be so i personally recommend you guys to bring your own delicious food instead.

The fun begins!

Ready to splash and soak in the lake!

Sun burn no problem -_-

The bamboo bay just too classic to step on. I feel like zaman dolu-dolu hehe

If you cant swim, no worries. You'll be safe. There are watchman who always aware of the surroundings. They will blow whistle if you swim too far from the others. Life jacket is compulsory at all time..So no worries!

Look! There is a slide but still under construction. Guest is not allowed to get near there.

There is also a spring bamboo, which is designed similarly to a spring board at the pool. You have to Q up there before performing your stunt jumps. There is also a tarzan rope so people can swing over the water like flying before they fall into the water and splash like a drowning tarzan hahaha... so fun!

I spent alot of time watching people jumping. Everyone is showing off their style and stunt, but i didn't  jump, i didn't dare jumping and swimming from that height. Huhu Mengadaaaaaaaaaa.. Maybe next time.

We played rakit too! Seronok!

Buddies of the day- From a stranger to friend. So glad that i met them!

Good bye beautiful place!

After so much time there, we ended the fun with a looooooooooooooooottttttttttttttttt of selfies! like aloooooooooooooooot hahahha. We left Tadom while our clothes are still wet since we didn't bring extra clothes for changing. Fortunately i have my yoga mat in my car so i covered my car seat with my yoga mat, sitting and driving in uncomfortable position..alll the way from Banting to KL! sigh. But i enjoy every moment in Tadom..

If you ask me to rate Tadom, i would give 3 stars out of 5 because:

1. Tadom is yet fully complete their construction. Some of the chalet are still under construction.
2. The choices of chalet are limited. But i can say hammock-stay-style as their signature and this has made Tadom differ from other resort.
3. The ultimate enjoyment is only on the spring bamboo and the tarzan rope. Nothing more adventurous than those factors.

So yeahhhh... i am done with the review. I wish you enjoy reading my humble post.

Happy going to Tadom!
